NTFT Positions scheduled
on the next Job Vancancy posting!

Management presented the first wave of NTFT positions to the Union on October 3rd.
The positions will be the Manual Sections (Flats and Letters including Expiditors) on Tour 1 & 3. All positions will be posted as 4 days a week 10 hours a day.
All Manual positions will have a Begin Tour of 18:50 and ET 05:00.

Tour 3:

  • All positions in Manual Ltrs. And Flats will be excessed.
  • All positions will be reposted for City Wide Bid
  • Clerks will maintain retreat rights (Retreat Rights: If you are a manual letter clerk on Tour 3, you will maintain retreat rights back to Tour 3 Manuak Letters. Tour 3 Manual Flats maintain retreat rights back to Tour 3 Manual Flats)
  • Will not be effective until December 31, 2011

Tour 1:

  • All positions in Manual Ltrs. And Flats will be converted and reposted.
  • All positions will be reposted for City Wide Bid
  • Clerks do not have retreat rights (there is no excessing)
  • Will not be effective until December 31, 2011

Tour 3 DBCS:

  • The Union and Management are in discussion about the proposed NTFT positions.

CBA 37.3.A.4.c.5
Any occupied traditional full-time regular duty assignment which is converted to a non-traditional fulltime assignment shall be reposted. Any occupied non-traditional full-time regular duty assignment which is converted to a traditional full-time assignment shall be reposted.

When the total hours in the workweek of a non-traditional full-time assignment are changed, the assignment shall be reposted.

When duty assignments are reposted in accordance with a., b., or c. above, such repostings of level 6, 7, and 8 duty assignments will be limited to employees within the same and higher salary levels and status; and repostings of level 5 duty assignments will be limited to those employees in that salary level and status.

When an occupied traditional clerk FTR duty assignment is reposted as a nontraditional full-time assignment, all duty assignments in that section or station/branch currently occupied by employees junior to the incumbent in that assignment will also be reposted for in-section bidding.

No Clerk or MVS employee who at the signing of this Agreement, has a full-time regular work schedule of 40 hours a week will be involuntarily reassigned to occupy a NTFT duty assignment of less than 40 hours a week. However, such employees may be reassigned to occupy a NTFT duty assignments of 40-44 hours a week, so long as those assignments have at least two (2) scheduled off days, with no scheduled work days of less than six (6) hours or more than ten (10) hours. All other employees, including current PTR’s, PTF’s, and any career employees hired after the signing of this Agreement, may be assigned to any residual NTFT duty assignment in accordance with Articles 37 or 39, respectively.
